Nova Scotia contains the only three colonies in Canada where Roseate Terns were confirmed breeding in 2009, although their numbers are alarmingly low. All sites are islands off of the mainland: The Brothers Islands, Country Island, and Sable Island. Recovery of the species is ongoing at these sites.
