Wetland habitats are important for many species, including the Eastern ribbonsnake. These habitats are particularly vulnerable to disturbance and are threatened by development, recreational use, agriculture, forestry and other human activities. There are many ways that you can help protect wetland environments and still enjoy and use your land. For example: avoid making ATV trails through wetlands, protect natural shoreline around cottages, leave beaver dams in place, keep a buffer zone around wetland areas if you log or farm.
